Mike first served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1980 to 1993 as an Avionic Technician, Supervisor, and Instructor, kicking off a lifetime dedicated to public service.

After retiring from military service, Mike worked at Johnson Controls, focusing on providing life safety and access control systems to K12 school districts across Colorado.

Married to a lifelong CCSD educator, he has been engaged in the CCSD community since 1988, with his own two children graduating from Grandview HS and Overland HS.

Now, as a grandfather to two, including a CCSD kindergartner, and as a father to a current CCSD teacher, Mike continues to give back to the district. Mike is a member of the Long Range Facility Planning Committee, volunteers on CCSD bond campaigns, is a Destination Imagination coach, and served on several county, city, and neighborhood boards, including the Arapahoe County Citizens Budget Committee, and as President of Liverpool Metro District and Greenfield HOA.
